The seasonal pattern of concentrations of nitrogen, starch and vegetative storage protein (VSP) in stolons of Trifolium repens L. grown in the field were studied. Two different genotypes, cv. Aran and cv. Rivendel, differing in their morphology (stolon thickness and branching rate) but with similar growth rates, were used. Maximum concentrations of starch were found in summer whereas hydrolysis of starch took place throughout winter, suggesting that C storage is more important for winter survival than for promotion of early spring growth. On the other hand, VSP and nitrogen accumulated in autumn and early winter and then decreased when growth was resumed during early spring. For both cultivars, an inverse relationship was found between VSP concentration in stolons and mean air temperature, suggesting that VSP accumulation may be triggered by low temperature. Further experiments with plants grown under different regimes of temperature and daylength, suggested that VSP synthesis is stimulated by low root temperatures, with a slight synergistic effect of short daylength.
The effects of root temperature on growth, N2 fixation, NH4+ uptake and N allocation within Trifolium repens L., were studied under controlled conditions. The shoot growth rate was greatly reduced when root temperatures were lowered from 12 to 6°C, while the rate of stolon growth was less affected. Low root temperatures inhibited N2 fixation more than it did NH4+ uptake, but the relative allocation of N to stolons was increased. Lowering root temperature also increased the accumulation of VSP in stolons. These results are discussed in terms of the mechanism associated with low temperature stimulation of VSP accumulation and its coupling with changes in the source/sink relations for allocation of N, between growth and storage.  相似文献

Global change has created a severe biodiversity crisis. Species are driven extinct at an increasing rate, and this has the potential to cause further coextinction cascades. The rate and shape of these coextinction cascades depend very much on the structure of the networks of interactions across species. Understanding network structure and how it relates to network disassembly, therefore, is a priority for system-level conservation biology. This process of network collapse may indeed be related to the process of network build-up, although very little is known about both processes and even less about their relationship. Here we review recent work that provides some preliminary answers to these questions. First, we focus on network assembly by emphasizing temporal processes at the species level, as well as the structural building blocks of complex ecological networks. Second, we focus on network disassembly as a consequence of species extinctions or habitat loss. We conclude by emphasizing some general rules of thumb that can help in building a comprehensive framework to understand the responses of ecological networks to global change.  相似文献

长江经济带林地和其他生物质碳储量及碳汇量研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
以全国林业应对气候变化碳汇计量监测体系建设结果数据为基础,应用森林碳库专项调查建立的碳计量模型和参数,结合历次森林资源清查成果等数据,估算了2020年长江经济带林地和其他生物质碳储量和碳汇量。研究表明:(1)2020年长江经济带林地碳储量24543.58 Tg C (其中森林植被碳储量为4372.85Tg C),散生木和四旁树等其他生物质碳储量329.59 Tg C。2020年长江经济带林地碳汇量81.81 Tg C/a (300.26Tg CO2/a)、散生木和四旁树等其他生物质碳汇量6.60 Tg C/a (24.21 Tg CO2/a)。无论是林地和其他生物质碳储量、碳汇量、还是森林植被碳储量,乔木林地所占比例最大(69%-85%);长江经济带11个省市中,云南省最大,上海市最小;林地碳储量中土壤有机质碳库贡献最大(81.46%),林地碳汇量中生物量碳库贡献最大(90.99%);林地碳汇量中"一直为林地的土地"产生碳汇量贡献最大(71.74%),其中一直为乔木林的土地产生的碳汇量占69.89%;(2)阐述了长江防护林工程、天然林资源保护工程、珠江防护林工程和沿海防护林工程4大重点生态工程对长江经济带碳储量和碳汇量的贡献,长江防护林工程贡献率最大(81%-83%),其次是天然林资源保护工程(32%-38%),珠江防护林工程和沿海防护林工程影响较小。分析了人工造林、中幼林抚育、次生林和低效林改造、退化林修复等生态保护修复措施对长江经济带碳储量和碳汇量的贡献,并提出了碳中和愿景下森林固碳增汇的有效途径。  相似文献

The relationship between the physical properties of solid food and the masticatory parameters is clarified. Eight solid foods of varying physical properties were chosen. Electromyography of the jaw-closing muscles and mandibular kinematics in eleven young subjects were recorded. The masticatory parameters were derived from the recorded data for the entire mastication process, for the first bite, and in the early, middle, and late stages of mastication. After calculating values relative to the mean value for each subject, nine parameters representing each group were chosen through a cluster analysis. Three principal components were extracted, each of them related to the masticatory time and cycle, minimum jaw opening at the early stage of mastication, and masticatory force. The principal component scores for each food were different, except for one combination in which the physical properties under large and extra-large deformations were similar, despite different breaking properties or small deformation properties. The masticatory parameters did not correlate with the physical properties of food measured for small deformation.  相似文献

The cyanogenic potentials and residual cyanide contents of local cassava parenchyma and their locally processed food products in southeastern Nigeria were studied. Seven species of cassava locally grown and four main food products from them were analyzed colorimetrically for their cyanide contents. Results of the analyses indicated that five of the species contain cyanide potentials between 50 and 100 mg HCN/kg fresh weight while only one contains cyanogens level greater than 100 mg HCN/kg fresh weight. Of the cassava products analyzed, two contained cyanide above the level recommended by the WHO/FAO (10 mg HCN/kg). The result raises concern as these cassava products constitute about 80–90% of the diet of the local people and the facts known about cyanide poisoning from intake of high cyanide containing food.  相似文献

探索食物网的复杂结构是生态学的中心问题之一。基于构建的黄河口海草床食物网并耦合实际食物网的数据集,整理了包含河口、湖泊、海洋和河流四种水生生态系统类型的48个实际食物网案例。以食物网的节点数反映食物网多样性,物种之间的营养链接数、链接密度和连通度来表示食物网的复杂性,采用营养缩尺模型描述水生生态系统食物网的复杂性特征与节点数的普适性规律。结果表明:所涉及的48个水生生态系统食物网的多样性和复杂性跨度较大,其中,节点数的分布范围为4-124,链接数为3-1830,链接密度为0.75-15.71,连通度为0.06-0.25。不同类型水生生态系统间的连通度存在显著性差异(P=0.01),节点数、链接数、链接密度不存在显著性差异。各类型生态系统的食物网链接数、链接密度均随节点数的增加而增加(R2=0.92,P<0.001和R2=0.82,P<0.001)。湖泊生态系统的连通度随节点数的变化不明显,围绕在0.20附近;而其他3种类型生态系统的食物网连通度随节点数的增加而降低(R2=0.06-0.41,P<0.001)。对全球尺度的水生食物网多样性和复杂性的定量化研究对于提升对食物网的复杂结构的科学认识,从系统尺度探究多样性和复杂性的关系提供数据支撑。  相似文献

Acrylamide (AAm) is produced in food through the reaction of asparagine and reducing sugar. We examined several methods of reducing the level of AAm using potato tubers. The fried model system that we employed consisted of thin slices that were first treated in water under different conditions before frying. A sufficient amount of water present in the fry material acts as an inhibitor against the formation of AAm and allows only a negligible amount of AAm to form. It was found that given the low content of water, the fry material temperature was sufficiently high to allow a relatively large level of AAm to form. Examination of water treatment prior to frying revealed that higher-temperature treatment water and longer treatment time resulted in the formation of lower levels of AAm. Moreover, removing some of the residual heat had an inhibiting effect on the formation of AAm.  相似文献
